What Is 3D Digital Imaging?
At PURE Oral Surgery, our team uses the latest in digital imaging technology to bring high-quality treatment results to patients throughout the DFW area. While digital x-rays produce diagnostic 2D pictures of your teeth and surrounding bone, 3D oral imaging provides an in-depth, 360-degree view of your teeth, jawbone, nerves, and other structures in your face and head. Advanced digital imaging allows our Dallas, TX oral surgeons to comprehensively assess existing oral health conditions or damage that may be impacting your oral function and comfort. This dental technology also provides us with a blueprint of your overall dental health, allowing for greater accuracy when diagnosing oral conditions and planning for ideal forms of care. Schedule a visit at one of our DFW oral surgery locations to learn how 3D digital imaging can enhance your oral health and smile.
"I had a great experience here. Was super nervous about the procedure and Roberto did a excellent job at calming me down. Dr. Carmichael was super nice and didn't rush when I was asking alot of questions. I had one wisdom tooth removed and barely had any pain after. They are on the pricey side but definitely worth it."- S.H. / Google / Jan 22, 2023
"I came in on 1/20/23 to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed. The staff was very courteous. They explained in detail the procedure and the steps I need to take after the surgery was performed. I was extremely nervous because I'd never been put to sleep before but Leo went out of his way to reassure me that everything would be okay and I would be fine. He is definitely a shining star there. I highly recommend coming here for all your oral surgery needs."- M. / Google / Jan 21, 2023

"This has to be the easiest and smoothest dental experience I have ever had! Dr. Carmichael was great. He listened to my needs and did exactly what I needed. I got 2 wisdom teeth removed and a molar removed. All in all after paperwork the procedure took no longer than 45 minutes and I felt 0 pain with the IV sedation! I highly recommend this location for dental work and I will be coming back if ever needed. My only complaint is that it is on the pricier side but well worth the work. It has now been 12 hours since my procedure and no signs of swelling and very minimal pain as expected. The staff was very professional and made me feel comfortable. The front receptionist was amazing as well, helped out with payment options and made everything a breeze! Like I said this location was great and Dr. Carmichael did an amazing job!"- P.L. / Google / Jan 04, 2023
"I had such a wonderful experience with Dr.Carmichael and all of his team. Provided great detail of the whole process and what to expect afterwards. When it came to billing I received information via text with an estimated cost of the visit. The front desk receptionist I didn't catch her name but she's very detail oriented and ensured I had all my paperwork."- A.R. / Google / Dec 29, 2022
Who Is a Candidate for 3D digital Imaging?
Our oral surgeons utilize 3D imaging to identify and gain a better understanding of a wide variety of dental conditions among patients. For teens, this dental technology lets us monitor changes and developments in dental and facial structures and is utilized during orthodontic treatments to make certain that teeth are shifting and aligning properly. Advanced 3D imaging is also employed when planning for and performing surgical tooth extractions, dental implant placement, and corrective jaw surgery, or to evaluate head, neck, and facial pain or trauma. Digital dental technology further enhances the treatment planning process, providing Dallas, TX patients the best possible option for monitoring and treating oral concerns.
What to Expect With 3D Digital Imaging?
At PURE Oral Surgery, the 3D imaging process is very similar to having x-rays taken except that the imaging machine will rotate 360-degrees around your head. The entire process is generally comfortable and only takes about 30 seconds to generate a full-mouth view. When the process is complete, the images are instantly transmitted to our computer system and easily viewed by our surgeons. Since digital imaging can expose patients to radiation, women that are nursing or pregnant should let a member of our team know beforehand so special precautions can be taken. Your 3D images will be stored in your digital patient chart and utilized by our team to diagnose, plan treatments, and perform treatments for oral conditions.
What to Expect After 3D digital Imaging?
Once your 3D images are taken, they will be displayed on our computer monitor. One of our caring oral surgeons will review your images with you, taking special care to point out any areas of interest or concern. These images may be taken periodically to monitor your condition throughout the course of your care, or to evaluate your treatment or healing progress. By utilizing 3D digital imaging for Dallas, TX patients, our skilled team can also minimize trauma to surrounding tissues during treatments and reduce the risk of complications during surgical procedures.
PURE's Commitment to You
Dental insurance plans may offer some coverage toward digital dental imaging when performed on a diagnostic basis or when necessary to complete an oral surgical procedure. PURE Oral Surgery is committed to making high-quality surgical care accessible to families throughout DFW and accepts several convenient payment options.
