"I’ve been researching dental implants for over 10 months. Spoke and met with many, with total disappointment! With “surprise” additional charges! I have to say that Dr Ellis and his staff are true professionals. From my initial phone call with Ms.Taylor to discussing the procedure, the no nonsense all inclusive pricing, and the process details with Dr Ellis, I experienced their dedication and attention to my concerns first hand. Can’t wait to get my new smile in a few weeks. 👍 10/27 UPDATEi I had my procedure done today! All teeth (upper) removed and had 5 implants and temp dentures installed while the gums heal! I had serious issues about going under and especially the “after pain” during the recovery process (I had read horror stories). This was the easiest and less painful dental experience ever. The staff was there with me throughout the procedure! After, had some minor swelling and discomfort for about an hour and a half. Picked up their prescription painkillers at CVS and to my surprise, No pain after that, I mean zero pain at all? I was waiting for the brutal pain to hit, and nothing. All my pain concerns were for nothing. These folks deserve 10 stars 👍👍"- L.C. / Google / Nov 21, 2023
"I have no concerns after having oral surgery to remove one of my upper teeth. Throughout the years I have had a lot of work done on my teeth. This is by far the best experience I’ve had after having my tooth pulled. I’m not having any pains. Dr.Carmichael you are an excellent dentist. Thank You!"- T.C. / Google / Nov 17, 2023

"Best place in the world"- W.S. / Google / Nov 15, 2023
"I was really nervous about having my wisdom teeth removed, especially being close to the age of 25 (when things typically get rough in terms of risk of dry socket and recovery). But Dr. Carmichael and the staff were wonderful. My surgery was easy and seamless. The nurses were friendly and cheerful and I never had any doubts about things being explained to me or my ability to choose options. The doctor completed my surgery for all 4 teeth in 30 minutes, which I really appreciated, and didn’t hit any nerves or damage anything. My recovery has gone smoothly. I haven’t had any issues a week later, and the doctor has been available for check ins and questions I’ve had throughout the recovery process. All in all, the best possible experience and treatment I could have asked for!"- L.H. / Google / Oct 31, 2023
Types of Maxillofacial Injuries
At PURE Oral Surgery, our team routinely treats a wide variety of facial and oral trauma. Even if an injury may not look serious or feel painful, we encourage patients to seek immediate help to address the condition and prevent further harm, such as an infection or loss of function. Some of the most common types of oral and maxillofacial injuries result from a sudden or direct impact to the face and include:
- Loose or knocked out (avulsed) teeth
- Fractured teeth or tooth roots
- A broken or dislocated jaw
- Broken cheekbones, eye socket, or nose
- Lacerations to the tongue, gums, lips, or face
If you are bleeding or in pain, we urge you to get in touch with our office to schedule an emergency appointment. We can also recommend ways to store a lost tooth or manage your pain until you arrive at the hospital or our office.
What to Expect During Your Visit
As experienced oral surgeons in Dallas, TX, our doctors have an advanced understanding of maxillofacial anatomy and are uniquely qualified to care for injuries to the mouth, jaw, and face. Treatments for facial fractures and trauma or oral injuries vary and are based upon the severity of each case. When you arrive at one of our DFW oral surgery locations, the PURE team will assess your injury and may take 3D digital images to better understand the extent of any damage. We will then explain your condition and talk with you about your treatment options. In some cases, corrective jaw surgery could be necessary, especially for significant trauma to the jawbone. Other instances may only require an in-office treatment while multiple procedures might also be recommended to fully treat an injury, if necessary.
Recovery Following Facial Trauma
The amount of time needed for recovery will depend on your traumatic injury and the treatment(s) performed. Our oral surgeons will provide you with specific recovery and aftercare instructions to help enhance your comfort as you heal. We recommend that you avoid engaging in any strenuous activities or putting too much strain on the injured area to prevent further harm during the recovery period. Follow-up appointments might also be scheduled to ensure you are healing properly. Preventive measures, such as wearing a mouth guard during sports, may be suggested by our team to minimize the risk of future accidents.
pure's Commitment to You
PURE Oral Surgery is committed to offering high-quality, affordable care for patients in our community. Once our oral surgeons have created your treatment plan, a member of our financial team will contact your insurance provider to review your benefits and help maximize your coverage. We will then inform you of any anticipated out-of-pocket costs and talk with you about the convenient payment methods accepted at our Dallas, TX practices.
